Children and young people use smartphones intensively. These are at once a telephone, camera and video camera, organizer, games console, television and Internet access route. Tablets are also becoming more and more popular. Apps enable a variety of further uses, which bring with them increased potential for endangerment. In comparison to a computer, parents have much less control over the use of mobile devices, and should therefore make use of the protective settings in the respective mobile operating system, as well as mobile parental blocks and child protection apps which accept age-appropriate settings.
